The former capital of the Inca empire, Cusco is a beautiful, tourist-filled city high in the crisp Andes. As the most popular tourist destination in Peru, there are many interesting artisanal shops and great restaurants packed into the Spanish and Incan influenced architecture surrounding the main Plaza de Armas and chic San Blas areas. When the Spanish drove out the Incas, thy destroyed many buildings, reconstructing new ones on the stone foundations left behind, giving us the interesting designs we see today.

Cusco's Plaza de Armas...
Outside Cusco in the Sacred Valley, there are many other Inca and pre-Inca ruins. One impressive set of terraces was a 30 minute drive away in the town of Tipon.
I just learned how to use panorama mode on my camera so I got a bit obsessed...
Next to the ruins was a small zoo where we got to hold a sloth and a macaw!
Tipon is also known for serving "cuy al horno" or in English, brick oven baked guinea pig. There was almost no meat and what little there was had a very chewy, beef jerky like texture and disgusting flavor...
Brit's face says it all... At least we tried!
hi what is the name of the zoo? Im planning to go
